The essential material of the aquarium's filtration system is to house the chemo-heterotrophic bacteria that decompose the organic substances produced by the flora and fauna present, a process that is essential to close the biological cycle and keep the fish alive; these bacteria decompose ammonia and nitrites that are highly toxic and even deadly to fish in the aquarium.

Our cannolicchi thanks to the material they are made of (synthesised glass with a porous and absorbent molecular structure) allows the settlement of up to 20 times more bacteria than normal ceramic rings.

Particularly suitable for overcrowded aquaria, marine aquaria or for filters that are small in relation to the volume of the tank.

Method of use:
Rinse the product under warm running water before use to remove any residual dust; 450 grams per 250 litres aquarium capacity (twice as much for sea water). Never rinse the product during use and replace the 50% mass annually.
