Technical background

AminŌmega is a unique blend of amino acids and omega-3 and -6 polyunsaturated fatty acids of marine origin, formulated for enrichment of prepared and live foods. It combines the best characteristics of self-emulsifying liquid concentrates with amino acids in the proportions in which they are found in various marine fish species. These substances are used by the body to create and repair tissue. Although the main use of omega-3 and omega-6 amino acids and fats is to enrich the feed consumed by fish, they have been shown to be effective in increasing the rate of tissue growth in corals, tridacnae, crustaceans and other organisms. Fish receiving a diet deficient in one or more crucial aspects may develop tissue deterioration along the lateral line and on the head. As reported, the amino acids and fats omega-3 and omega-6 are able to repair tissue damaged due to a deficient diet. AminŌmega is a concentrated product and should not be overdosed or added directly into the aquarium, otherwise water quality will deteriorate. With fish showing signs of damaged tissue, such as head and lateral line erosion (HLLE), be patient and wait for AminŌmega to provide the amino acids and fatty acids for a sufficient time to bring visible results; do not attempt to overdose, as this will cause more harm than good by worsening water quality as mentioned above. AminŌmega is not intended to have curative effects, however the amino acids and omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids have been consistently observed to play a positive role in tissue formation.

AminŌmega does not require refrigeration, however storage in a cool place, away from sunlight, will prolong the stability of the components. Refrigeration will maximise product life.

Instructions and guidelines:

To enrich feeds: Shake well before use. Place the feed in a clean container such as a small bowl or cup and add enough AminŌmega to saturate it. Allow to absorb for at least 5 minutes before administering. Liquid food suspensions can be enriched by adding 0.5ml (about 4 drops) of AminŌmega for every 10ml of suspension; shake to mix and allow 5 minutes before administering. The greatest benefit from each liquid food suspension is obtained when it is administered directly to the organism it is intended to feed, rather than dispersed in the aquarium. After a period of several months, the dosage can be increased by 50% provided that water quality is monitored and maintained within the appropriate ranges. Note that starting with a lower dosage will not cause harm to the aquarium inhabitants and will allow small changes to be noticed in the overall appearance of the system that indicate the efficacy and need for the product. Check water quality carefully each time, making corrections as necessary.

To enrich live food: Shake well before use. Separate the live food portion (such as rotifers, daphnia, artemia, etc.) and place it in a clean container without water circulation. Add one drop of AminŌmega per litre of water in the container and stir gently to spread the product in the water, then wait 20-40 minutes while the organisms consume the product. Then collect the organisms from the container with a fine-mesh net and rinse in the sink with a little fresh water. Feed the organisms immediately to the aquarium inhabitants.
