Il potassio è uno degli elementi che viene maggiormente assorbito dalle piante d’acqua dolce.
Anche in caso di una concimazione regolare, il valore di potassio può scendere a livelli minimi bloccando la crescita delle piante.
Per una crescita rigogliosa delle piante il valore deve essere compreso tra 5 e 10mg/l; per arrivare a 20mg/l in caso di vasche intensamente illuminate (più di 1W/l).
Valori più alti di 20mg/l favoriscono la crescita di alghe filiformi verdi.
